Underwater Vehicle Technology
In 1996 he entered JAMSTEC, and has been engaged mainly in the development and operation of Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). In 2003, after the loss of the first KAIKO vehicle, I was in charge of developing KAIKO7000 and KAIKO7000II as 7,000m class ROV. In May 2017, we developed 11,000m class ROV, UROV11K system collaborated with NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation). UROV11K reached to the deepest part of the global ocean (Mariana Trench Challenger Deep) in shooting images with a 4K camera. The image was aired on NHK Special in August 2017.
